Puzzles, videos, and more

You Should Be Reading: Garfield Minus Garfield

Minimalist brilliance. But don't take our word for it; even Time sometimes checks out the Internets:

“Comic Stripped”

At garfieldminusgarfield.tumblr.com, old Garfield strips are republished without Garfield in the frames. The end result is a lonely Jon Arbuckle wandering throughout the comic strip. This site was founded by Dan Walsh of Dublin, Ireland who says, “when you remove Garfield from the Garfield comic strips, the result is an even better comic about schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and the empty desparation of modern life.” See if you agree after taking a look at this Garfieldless comic.

While You're At It: Lasagna Cat

Garfield comic strips reimagined as surreal, live-action performances, each with an equally surreal music video. Go.

More Garfield?

This is what happens when an Internet meme takes off: lots of bizarre and funny riffs on the same idea. This one's called Realfield; here's another called Arbuckle. You can Google your way to finding strips with Jon removed, strips with all dialogue removed, strips with all characters removed and replaced by other, random characters, and plenty more.
